The Poker Review – Cate Hall HU4Rollz, PokerStars Grinder Kristen Bicknell & Doyle Brunson

Cate Hall Issues A HU4Rollz & Doyle Brunson Gets Blocked By Trump - Spin & Go Strategy
Welcome to the 2nd edition of The Poker Review. This week we look at an upcoming HU4ROLLZ matchup, a sick PokerStars grind & Doyle Brunson’s love/hate relationship with Donald Trump.

Cate Hall Challenges Mike Dentale To HU4ROLLZ.
Following a Tweetstorm of epic proportions Cate Hall has challenged resident “do you even lift?” live-pro Mike Dentale to a deep Heads-up cash-game.
After taking a Twitter shot at an unorthodox play by poker pro Cate Hall, Mike Dentale found himself backed into a corner when Cate instantly served him with an aggressive HU4ROLLZ challenge, which the poker community immediately got behind in full force. Never ones to keep their opinions to themselves, Mike & Cate continued to trade powerful jabs as the details of the upcoming match slowly developed.

In a delay not unlike the WSOP zzzzzNovember Nine, the upcoming battle will be played as a live, best of 3 Heads-Up matches next March. Although the promotion of this sick challenge seems to be right up Don King’s alley, respected pro Matt Glantz appears to have secured the position instead.

Adding to the spectacle, the one and only Mr. Doug Polk will be commentating the match via his popular Twitch stream and rumor has it Alex Dreyfus is working on a “cube-cage” built specifically for this match. All that’s missing now is a video-summary from PLO legend Joey Ingr….oh wait…nevermind…

(UPDATE: Check out this hilarious quote quiz: Dentale or Trump? Can You Tell The Difference?)

GPL Finals Won & Lost…Apparently.
The Montreal Nationals are the inaugural champions of the Global Poker League (GPL) defeating the Berlin Bears, winning $100,000, and entertaining literally dozens of viewers. The Bears’ Brian Rast had a run of 6 wins snapped at the most inopportune time as he failed to overcome Montreal’s Pascal Lefrancois in the final match.

She Played How Many Hands???
Dual WSOP bracelet winner and 5-time PokerStars SuperNova Elite Kristen Bicknell recently posted proof that she has logged more than 15 million hands (!!!) on PokerStars over a period of 9 years.

How does one manage to play 15 million hands? Well, considering it averages out to around 140,000 hands per month and that Kristen already said most hands were played during her 5 SNE runs, it’s safe to say that Bicknell’s non-poker hobbies have been few and far between the past decade. What an absolute legend!
This also made us wonder….how many bad beats did she take over that time-period???

Donald Trump Blocks Doyle Brunson On Twitter.
Despite Doyle going to bat for Trump against Clinton in pre-election twitter-wars, the big D has inexplicably blocked the poker legend on Twitter.

Hopefully this isn’t a sign of anti-poker things to come; though a recent letter by ten State Attorney-Generals rallying against online gambling is sure painting a bleak picture. Yikes! What do you guys think, will online poker survive this onslaught or are our days numbered?

That’s all for this week’s Poker Review! Until next time, may your multipliers be maxed and your opponents recreational!
